Inspiration:

“The next day, John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” - John 1:29

“Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed.” - Rev. 5:5

The lamb:

In the Bible, the Israelites were chosen as God’s special people, to whom God revealed Himself, His purpose and plan. They were to keep God’s righteous and good commands as given to Moses in order that they could enjoy His presence, protection, and blessings. But should they disobey (sin), God gave them specific instructions to offer a lamb as a sacrifice for their sin in order that they could be restored and forgiven. The problem with this was that they would need to continually offer sacrifices to God, because they continued to sin.

What could be done?

It would take a special lamb: a pure, spotless, innocent lamb to take away mankind’s sin once and for all.

The lion:

The symbol of strength, courage, royalty, and triumph! Jesus, the lamb of God, came to us, boldly died a cruel death on a Roman cross to take away mankind’s sin once and for all. His death satisfied God’s just judgement for disobedience to His law. Sin was atoned for once and for all! But it didn’t end there: Jesus rose from the dead 3 days later, overcoming death! The lamb has triumphed and reigns as King forevermore! He is alive! His resurrection gives us hope that we, too, will rise to be with Him in His Kingdom one day.

The Good News:

Jesus is inviting you and I to come to Him for the forgiveness of sins and to experience eternal life today! It’s simple:

“If You declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with the heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth, that you profess your faith, and are saved.” -Romans 10:9-10

Will you ask Him to forgive you and come into your life today? He is willing!

“For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their Shepherd; He will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
